Start by experiencing the sensation of the clay in your hands. Through understanding the material's character and acquiring traditional techniques to manipulate it, you will develop a unique relationship with clay.

Classes

Trial Class (2 hrs.)
  • 1–2 small pieces (cups, small dishes, etc.)
  • Trial class with children between 6 and 18 also available (one child and one adult)
  • Standard ¥4,000 / Child + Adult ¥6,800

1-Day Class (2.5 hrs.)
  • Large or small plate, bowl, dish, cup & saucer, planter, etc.

2-Day Class (2.5 hrs. × 2 sessions)
  • (A) Vase, lidded box, etc. (B) Electric potter's wheel

Foundation Course (2.5 hrs. × approx. 12–15 sessions)
  • Learn the below clay basics through 6 different projects:
    ● pinch pots ● coil-building ● slab-building ● solid modeling ● hand wheel ● electric wheel ● preparation and clean-up ● decoration techniques and surface materials (glazes, slips, underglazes)

Terra Member (2.5 hrs. per session)
  • After completing the foundation course, students may further develop their skills and creativity through continued pottery-making.
    Students will receive support that suits their individual interests and technical level.

Head west along Naruo Mikage-sen toward Sumiyoshi River. Just before reaching the top of the hill, you will see a metered parking lot to your left.
Pass the parking lot and turn left.
* This is the closest parking lot to Workshop Terra.

On the left, you will see another parking lot.
Take the first left into the residential road with the gravel path.

About 55 yards (50 meters) ahead, you will see Workshop Terra on the corner to your right.


If arriving from National Route 2 or JR Sumiyoshi Station, head south along the Sumiyoshi River until you reach the Uozakikitamachi 8. Cross the street and turn left down the steep hill.
* If driving, turn left at the intersection and you will see a metered parking lot to your right. This is the closest parking lot to Workshop Terra.

At the bottom of the hill, you will see two parking lots.
Turn right and take the first left onto gravel path.

About 55 yards (50 meters) ahead, you will see Workshop Terra on the corner to your right.


If arriving from Rokko Liner Uozaki Station or the southwest, head north along Sumiyoshi River.
Right before reaching the Uozakikitamachi 8 intersection (the intersection with a 7-11 on the corner), turn right and head downhill.
* If driving, head north along the Sumiyoshi River and turn right onto Naruo Mikage-sen. Pass over the Shin-tantaka Bridge (新反高橋). Just past the Uozakikitamachi 8 intersection, you will see a metered parking lot to your right.

At the bottom of the hill, you will see two parking lots.
Turn right and take the first left onto gravel path.

About 55 yards (50 meters) ahead, you will see Workshop Terra on the corner to your right.


If arriving from Hanshin Uozaki Station, exit the station from the north.
Take the road to the right of the Coop Mini and walk straight for about a quarter mile.

Walk past the large condominium (Famille) and continue straight.

Turn right at the gravel path leading into a residential area and parking lot.

About 55 yards (50 meters) ahead, you will see Workshop Terra on the corner to your right.


If arriving from the southeast (e.g., Uozaki Elementary School), turn left at the end of Kohoku Park (the side of the park with the slide and benches) and head northeast.

Go straight for about 110 yards (100 meters) and turn right at the residential road with the gravel path.
Workshop Terra is at the end of the road on the right.
